1º ESO BRIT: We visit a Caixaforum exhibition

The exhibition was about the luxuries of our ancestors. The clothes they wore,(the truth was that they weighed a lot),the jewels...Then we saw a carpet which had been left in a house where people had been partying for a week. Another thing that caught my attention is what they used to eat ,and how they used it . On the other hand, we did a small activity in which we had to guess which object was the real one and which one was forged. And finally, we saw the jewels they were wearing, and in the last minutes we had to find two old coins.

I really liked the exhibition, and the girl spoke very well and slowly in English.

When we arrived at Caixa Forum, we took photos all together on  the letters at the front door. When we entered, two girls helped us. One of them was our guide. We had to climb up some floors, there were lot of stairs. Already on our floor, at the entrance, the guide explained a little about the beginnings, the place, etc… The guide showed us vessels, bowls, jewellery, part of a carpet used for the parties at the palaces, it was made of stone. The people used it so that normal carpets did not get dirty. We played to find what the false object was. We saw what bowls were to drink the wine, people held it with only three fingers. Almost at the end of the exhibition, they took us to a room with smells and sounds. On the walls of the room there were drawings of the banquet. There were cabinets with pieces of stone with scriptures and alphabets. Finally, we saw the jewellery of the time, it was beautiful. The guide explained the history of the jewellery, also she showed us the tools for making up and she explained how they used it. She told us that makeup was created principally for the men.

Last Friday BRIT students went to Caixaforum to see an exhibition: Luxury of Alexander Majno. The exhibition was about Asirian people. You could see their cosmetics and how Asirian made up. We learned the difference between real material and fake. We saw their clothes and their house decoration. At the end of the exhibition, we got into a room. In this room there were some pictures of the Asirian gardens. The exhibition was very funny and we learned about Asirian people.
